Modern Domainer has been passionately involved in covering all aspects of the latest domain industry events. I had the pleasure to meet and speak with the faces behind Modern Domainer magazine while at DomainFest Hollywood earlier this year.

Yesterday I received this message from my friend Seth Coman of Modern Domainer.

Our webmaster, Rob Heath, has been working overtime editing our interviews from Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas that we compiled from October 2007 through this past February.

Our .tv site, ModernDomainer.tv is now live and you can check many of the best interviews we conducted over the last 6 months at the conferences. Included are interviews with domain industry giants like Ron Sheridan and Jay Westerdal, as well as Leland Hardy of NewYork.com, who also represents Master P, Lil Romeo, Venus and Serena Williams, and others in his spare time.

The site looks beautiful and works great! My only suggestion is to invest in a better microphone.  Congrats to all involved and keep up the awesome interviews, we want more!

Free Web Developer Toolbar Loaded with SEO and Domain Tools

Some disturbing news hitting home today. The premium generic domain name “LH.com” has been ordered to be transfered to airline giant Lufthansa.

Elliot Silver reminds us that this case is far from over as Future Media Architects has filed a preemptive lawsuit against Lufthansa in case they lost the domain name via UDRP.

A scandalous decision has once again been reached by the so called wipo arbitration panel.

The name is currently still owned by ‘elequa’. Well known in the domain industry and owns a vast portfolio of short acronym domains. Including ‘i.net’ !

A gem dating back to 1995. It is Lufthansa who have effectively hijacked this name now. Reverse hijacking (or daylight robbery) is on the increase as firms desperate to own a unique short web address try and take via court action from legitimate owners.

Domainer Loses LH.com to Airline Giant Lufthansa

After making a few domain sales yesterday and this morning I was surprised to see GoDaddy had updated the domain ownership transfer process to make it more simple and secure.

Instead of having to ask the new owner their mailing address, phone number and other private contact information, you simply need to have them provide you their account name and email address.

This change will provide peace of mind and save time for both parties.

As one of the largest domain name registrars, many hundreds if not thousands of domain names change hands through GoDaddy accounts. The process is painless and free and almost everybody has a GoDaddy account, which is why they are my registrar of choice as a domainer.

Last month I wrote an article entitled “Facebook: Social Domaining.” I received some good responses from fellow domainers, Facebook friends and domaining related groups. Thank you to the handful of people who joined the DotSauce Fan Page on Facebook!

Facebook Lexicon: Keyword Popularity

I would like to share with you some great new features that have been released by the Facebook team. First off is a cool little utility called Facebook Lexicon. Lexicon looks at the usage of words and phrases on profile, group and event Walls (comment areas).

This tool functions similar to Google Trends search popularity tool, except that the data is pulled from conversations instead of search queries. So, in theory the data would be a more valuable and accurate depiction of keyword trends.

Here are some screen captures of Lexicon in action comparing the keywords “Clinton” and “Obama” It seems my man is getting the word out!

I found this one quite funny, a true test of Lexicon’s accuracy. A comparison between the keywords “Party Tonight” and “Hangover.” Perfectly patterned!
